Inspiracją dla autora gry, Markusa Perssona były gry Infiniminer, Dwarf Fortress oraz Dungeon Keeper. Gra dostępna jest w dwóch wersjach — Beta oraz Classic. Wersja Classic jest bezpłatna, bazuje na najwcześniejszej wersji gry i nie jest obecnie rozwijana. Ogranicza się ona wyłącznie do budowania przy nieograniczonej liczbie dostępnych bloków. W wersji Beta gracz samodzielnie pozyskuje materiały do budowy, a rozgrywka jest uzupełniona o przeciwników, licznik zdrowia oraz wiele innych możliwości i przedmiotów. Obie wersje posiadają tryby gry jednoosobowej i wieloosobowej. Classic była pierwszą wersją deweloperską gry wypuszczoną 17 maja 2009 — dawała jedynie możliwość stawiania i usuwania sześcianów. Gracz startował z pełnym ekwipunkiem klocków, był nieśmiertelny i nie mógł stworzyć żadnego przedmiotu — w tej fazie rozwoju projektu nie były zaimplementowane żadne inne elementy znane z późniejszych wersji. Classic nie jest już rozwijana — “Notch” (twórca gry) planuje wycofać ją z rynku, chociaż nadal daje możliwość grania w nią za darmo przez stronę minecraft.net z poziomu przeglądarki …

Stare Dobre Małżeństwo – Zobaczysz (You’ll See) Stare Dobre Małżeństwo (in English translation “good old mariage”) is a Polish music group. The band derives from typical for Poland so called student music. This musical style is characterised by guitar music, while the lyrics often talk about hiking in the Polish mountains, love and adventure. SDM, however, quickly created their own style, and became famous due to their interesting musical interpretations of poems written by a well known Polish poet Edward Stachura. Another important author, who worked with band, is Polish poet Adam Ziemianin. Currently, the band has moved away from “student music” and play music that can be described as acoustic blues. Furthermore, they often use poems of the forgotten poet Jan Rybowicz whose work addressed important questions about human existence.
